So after spending way too much time in our horrendous traffic trying to find a place that sells M12x1.50 bolts in this area, I still have no M12x1.50 bolts.... plenty of M12x1.75 though. If I have one more sales person try to tell me that some other size will fit and that I should just buy new nuts to match I'll punch them in the face. The reason I need these buggers is to mount the newly acquired 12A to the engine stand so I can start the real disassembly. Usually I just use the A/C hardware that is meant to go in those holes, but seeing as this one didn't come with A/C and all my other engines are in cars and have the A/C mounted, this leaves me with needing two damn bolts. That no where sells. /Annoyed

Have a p-port housing for reading, that's the plan for this motor anyways.

Update! The little Napa I never go o had them, Fastenal did not. Surprising.

Have you tried Fastenal or Grainger?

McMaster Carr PN 91287A485 ( www.mcmaster.com)

Typically if you are near a distribution center of theirs you'll get stuff the next day, even with ground shipping.

I know I can order them, but the point of the matter is that I shouldn't have to. I hate that all these hardware stores are moving away from carrying large varieties of grab-your-own hardware and towards the prepackaged common sizes only. What's the point of even having a hardware store then?

haha, I hate those 1.5 thread bolts. BMW uses them all over the place on suspension.

Don't have either of those in my area, I tried two of our local lumber yards and the big stores. Ace was closed by the time I was looking so that's my last ditch effort today before resigning myself to ordering them. I just want this damn engine apart already!

I know right? Mazda uses them on all the rear suspension on 1st gen RX7s... too bad I don't have the chassis this came out of laying around. haha

Same problem when I went to install my BMW alternator on Christmas Eve and snapped the bolt.

True, I used to be able to pop into my local hardware store and get whatever I needed, haven't done so in a while, I hope the one I used to go to hasn't changed the wide variety they carry.

prepackaged qty of 10 when I need 1. I too hate that shit. Luckily I have 2 hardware stores close and one sells common stuff and the other has a pretty good stock of almost everything.

My hardware store has them. I know it doesn't help your immediate problem, but I've no intention to stop carrying them. In fact we carry every type of metric fastener available from our vendor. So there is at least one small town hardware store holding the fort.
